Question: How can technology be used most effectively to support and assess student learning?
Depending on the implementation and monitoring of the educator with the group of students, a lot may be accomplished. Their is a plethora of information available throughout the internet and an educator is able to tap into those sources. Having the students have a clear webpage to visit with the research having been done by the educator previously, will benefit both parties involved. In having the time to explore the internet for the past two sessions I have found several assessments that are kid friendly and would allow for a change from a pen and paper format. The online assessments allow young learners the opportunity to adapt to different means of being assessed.
I have had the opportunity to learn shortcuts with the tools provided by the Intel training. The shortcuts are intended to aide an educator who is short on time to achieve all of their capabilities. For example, the opportunity to create a blog to connect parents to students work in the classroom has been opened and I plan to implement it before the end of the semester.

I hope that blogs work for you, and that you are able to actually use them.
